At present, Windows 7 is offered only as a free issue, time limited "Release Candidate".
The point of this "RC" is to enable large scale user testing to be carried out and report back any problems to Microsoft to enable them to correct or modify the system.
In some (most) cases, this reporting to base is automatic but it may not be and the suggested procedure then is to use the Windows 7 Forum which has been specifically created for this purpose. Using the W7 Forum will enable Microsoft to be aware of the problem and also to allow other testers to see it and possibly offer assistance (which Microsoft may do as well).
